Marina di Campo: it is the most renowned tourist center on the island, located on the right side of the Elba island largest and most equipped beach, which has about 1500m. From this seaside location it's possible to reach other beautiful beaches on Elba such as Cavoli, Seccheto and Fetovaia. In the centre of the town lies the old fishing village, the small harbour and the colourful and picturesque painted houses. Worth a visit is the Tower of Marina di Campo, built in the Medicean period, rises on the western end of the bay of Marina di Campo and was built as a defensive system, during Pisan rule. The town is a real holiday-town. In the evening it is really attractive: a lot of restaurants, small bars and some ice-cream shops. There is a beautiful seafront walk that comes to an end at a beautiful pine tree forest that runs alongside the beach. It is still good to try to find a place in the harbour, more out of the season. The harbour is dominated by boats of local authorities and as well by local fishing boats and tourist/excursion. If you don’t find the place in harbour or if you want stay on anchor, there is nothing to worry about because there are good anchorage possibilities in a big bay which opens to the South. The water there is 3-10 meters deep, all sand-ground. Once on the anchor you can get by your dingy to the harbour to explore beautiful town.
